#3
International
Acid Gas Injection Symposium (2012, Banff Canada)
The
Third International Acid Gas Injection
Symposium will be holed at Banff, Alberta,
Canada from May 29, 2012 to June 1 2012.
The world’s thirst for energy continues to
increase. Producers of petroleum and natural
gas must look to poorer quality
reservoirs, those containing hydrogen
sulfide and carbon dioxide, to fill
the void. Producing these resources is
dangerous because of the presence of toxic
hydrogen sulfide. And the question arises as
to what can be done with the by-products of
these processes.

A successful AGIS2010 is now complete. This year’s AGIS included
both a Symposium, with presentations and poster sessions, and
two workshops.
The keynote was presented by
Dr. Stefan Bachu from Alberta Innovates –

Dr. Bachu’s paper titled “Subsurface Characteristics of Acid Gas
Disposal Operations in Western Canada: A Precursor to CO2
Storage” set an excellent tone for the entire conference.
